Does CHKOBD work without an internet connection?
Yes, ChkOBD can perform basic diagnostics and monitoring without an internet connection. However, certain features like detailed error code explanations or displaying “End User Agreement”, “Privacy Policy” or “Warnings” may require internet access.
Is the app free to use?
ChkOBD offers a free version of Engine Values, with basic features. Advanced tools and functionalities are available with either an In-App Purchase or a premium subscription.

How do I install the ChkOBD app?
You can install the app by searching “ChkOBD” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, downloading it, and following the on-screen instructions.
How do I connect my OBD device to the app?
Plug your OBD to Bluetooth adapter into your car’s OBD-II port, enable Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on your phone, As ChkOBD connects using “BLE” (Bluetooth Low Energy) the pairing is normally not needed (it is normally automatic).
Which OBD adapters are compatible with ChkOBD?
ChkOBD supports most ELM327-based OBD-II to Bluetooth adapters, both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. For optimal performance, we recommend using one of the verified devices listed on our website.
What should I do if the app doesn’t recognize my OBD adapter?
Ensure your adapter is properly plugged in, and your phone’s Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is enabled. Restart both the adapter and the app, and try reconnecting. If the issue persists, check the compatibility list or contact support.

Yes, ChkOBD allows you to clear error codes after diagnosing the issue, helping reset your vehicle’s check engine light. But remember, clearing error code would normally not fix the problem, you need to repair the cause, to not have the return of the error message !
